Information for Industry

What industry bodies, employers and
potential students should know about Right Way

All trainers and assessors and training organisations have to meet specific requirements to operate in the vocational education and training (VET) sector.

At a minimum, trainers/assessors have to have a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110) and a qualification—or equivalent industry work experience—in the area they are delivering training in. Training organisations need to be registered with the national registering body, the Australian Skills Quality Authority, or in some cases, a state body.

Right Way accreditation offers even more assurance to industry, individual employers and potential students that the training they are signing up for is high quality and will produce work-ready graduates. It does this by:

  • Involving industry experts in the accreditation process.

  • Requiring accreditation to be renewed frequently (from 1 January 2015 the accreditation period changed from three to two years).
  • Ensuring trainers/assessors maintain current knowledge of the area of the service industry they are delivering training in and take part in professional development activities
The Right Way logo is a symbol of quality in a competitive environment.
